Job Description
A Lead Medicare Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and growing our Medicare Program. The Medicare program includes effectively and proactively managing Medicare Patients with the use of Remote Patient Monitoring, Chronic Care Management and other such programs. In this role you are responsible for administering and managing team members, as well as ensuring we are providing compassionate and professional care for our patients along with effective and efficient workflow and collaboration with the rest of our health care team (MA’s and Providers).
Primary responsibility will be Front Desk Receptionist.
Below are the key responsibilities of a Lead Medicare Coordinator:
- Responsible for managing the activities of Medicare team members daily. This includes setting up tasks and activities for the team and ensuring completion of such
- Oversee and train new and existing staff- Make sure all Medicare staff are cross trained to work in all clinics and are trained in the latest EMR version and Other tools.
- Manage schedule for Medicare staff such as cleaning and time-off in coordination with Office Lead and ensure there is always a back-up available
- Responsible to monitor Daily performance of Medicare team members and ensure duties are completed in a timely manner. Such as:
- Monitoring for RPM
- Monitoring for CCM,
- Ensure Medicare patients who have appointments are being seen by one of the Medicare Coordinators
- Make sure attestations, PCP forms, and advanced directives are being done
- Send claims for RPM and other services on a Monthly /Bi-Monthly basis
- Work with Billing team on a regular basis to ensure claims are getting reimbursed appropriately
- Supervise work performance of all Medicare staff and provide input for performance reviews and corrective action plans as needed.
- Maintain attendance records on file for Human Resources and Head of Clinical Operations for payroll and such.
- Work in collaboration with Office Lead to Hire and interview new hires for Medicare Coordinators.
- Provide training and documentation to Medicare Staff for any new and existing services; training should include workflow, EMR documentation, etc…
- Ensure high quality care for patients by reviewing and researching any complaints or encounters and adding a corrective plan.
- Responsible for creating and presenting EMR reports on a regular basis including billing reports, weekly RPM & CCM, inventory and others as required
- Responsible to work with CEO to maintain the materials such as BP monitors, Glucose Monitors, Scales, etc.
- Conduct Periodic staff meetings with Medicare staff to update on latest information
- Attend Providers Meeting and relay any pertinent information to Medicare staff promptly.
- Attend periodic training sessions and meetings pertaining to Medicare to ensure we are UpToDate with medical guidelines, processes, and procedures
- Provider Mentorship and development to the Medicare team
- Perform other duties such as assigned
- Expand RPM Program for Commercial Patients
- Travel to each office (Keller, Azle, or Denton) once a week or as needed
